TXU Energy sponsors turkey-calling contest at Houston Zoo

The Houston Zoo and TXU Energy are hosting a turkey-calling contest to promote the 20th annual TXU Energy Turkey Trot, benefitting Sheltering Arms Senior Services.

From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 10, contestants will be judged on their turkey calls and struts. First prize is a family membership to the zoo, and runners up will receive four packs of tickets for the zoo. Winners will be announced in four categories: 12 and younger, 13 to 17, 18 and older and groups.

Area media figures will join this year's competition to compete for the title of "Houston Media's Top Turkey."

The TXU Energy Trot is a yearly event that includes competitive and fun runs and is held Thanksgiving morning. For more information on the trot, visit www.houstonturkeytrot.org.
